i need some advice from the mums out there please. i really dont know what to buy regarding sleeping areas for my unborn baby. i plan to get a travel cot that will stay downstairs which baby will sleep in during naps in the day and which we can take over to parents houses etc. this the baby can sleep in up until the age of about 3. i also plan on buying a cot for his bedroom.
the last thing im stuck on is something for our bedroom. we plan on having him sleep in our bedroom up until around 6months old (please dont try and talk me out of this saying he should sleep in his own room from birth, im a first time mum and i feel comfortable him sleeping in our room). im not going to co-sleep with the baby, i want him in his own sleeping space by the side of our bed.
so im stuck, i dont want to keep lugging the travel cot up and downstairs everyday, so i was thinking a moses basket, cradle, or carry cot. i dont know which is better or which lasts longer. the only other thing we were thinking of was to have his cot in our room for 6months then move itback into his room? can babies sleep in their own cot from birth or is it too big?
so what have you guys bought in the past? what did you think was a waste of money and what would you advise?
