well,

5 Years ago i was arrested for obtaining cannabis. I was convicted of possesion of cannabis. These were my younger years, its not like pot is a major crime but i think this may burden my travel.... What do i put down when i enter the country? Can anyone help? i plan to travel on the 25th of december and i don't wish to ring the consulate, just incase i get pre- denile before i get through customs. YOur thoughts would be awesome.

Thanks, Andre

All criminal records from American allied countries (UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, South Korea, etc) are on shared computer databases. Your name and passport will trigger instant recognition, so your criminal record will be available to the Customs checkpoints in any of those countries. It doesn't matter what you write on a form or tell the Customs agents because they have your whole criminal history, photos, passport data, travel data, and everything else right in from of them already.

You really need to contact the Australian and New Zealand embassies to confirm whether you can travel there. It's the only way to be sure.
