tropical fish help please?

i have just recently added tropical fish and they keep on swimming around the edges and the top of the tank is this normal also when i turn offf the light why do they all swim towards the corner and hit against the glass?. One last question my neon fishes eyes are not glowing but they were in the shop anyone know why?
 
Does your aquarium have some sort of O2 supplementation, like a bubbler or something to agitate the surface of the water? Your fish are probably starved for oxygen.
 
Hi,it sounds like it could be stress or lack of Oxygen.
have you got an air bubble.If its lack of oxygen you need to act fast.

the neons arent glowing as much as you havent got the same lighting and they swim around the top because of lack of oxygen
 
when my filter gets blocked up and i haven't noticed all the fish except the bottom dwellers make their way to the top of the tank . once i clean the filter and after a few hours they all return to normal
