...a few months.....? Can someone recommend any school that offers specifically cake/pastry decoration coursework leading to a certificate that is only a few months in duration? I am finishing a BA degree in a completely unrelated field right now, but for a long time I have had the desire to learn how to decorate cakes and pastries. I would like to find a school (community college, institute, etc.) where I can get certification in about 3 months. I would be willing to do a 6 month program if evening classes were offered, allowing me to work during the day. I am entertaining the idea of doing cakes, etc. as a side business as well as possibly opening up a pastry shop overseas. I do not want to get another degree, especially considering that I would use the gained knowledge to start my own business. I am having a terrible time finding any sort of short-term offerings in the U.S. Since I will be graduating soon, I am completely open to relocating anywhere in the U.S. in order to take the classes; however, I would prefer heading to the East or West coast and being near the ocean, but at this point I am willing to look into any location. I have looked into the Wilton School in Chicago, and although it looks wonderful it seems a little expensive. I would be thrilled if anyone could give me some suggestions. Thanks so much!
