Turkey - Bodrum or Marmaris for a holiday?

i have looked through holiday brochures and id like to go to either Bodrum or Marmaris. Does anyone have any information on these places ? or ever been for a holiday ?

a few questions i have are

are the beaches nice ?
is it easy to access other resorts / towns ?
are excursion available ?
are there nice places to eat in the area ?

I've been to both several times. Here are my answers to your questions:

Beaches: Marmaris - rubbish! (You can take boats out to the islands though and they're quite pretty.) Bodrum - good beaches

Access: Marmaris - excellent transport infrastructure but the same is also true of Bodrum. Lots of buses and the taxis are cheap

Excursions: Went to Parmukale from Marmaris on an overnight visit - can thoroughly recommend it

Eating: Loads and loads of fabulous restaurants. It's cheaper in Bodrum but the quality is just as good. Marmaris has the harbour, which is extremely picturesque if a little pricey.
