Turning basement into Gym/Recreation Room. Painting Walls White. Carpeting is a

beige type color. Black trim? Would painting the trim a black or charcoal color look bad against the color of the carpet? I like the clean feel that the white will give to the room and I'm looking for a nice modern design and thought about black trim. Any other suggestions? And if I do paint the trim a dark color, should the switch plates and outlet covers be painted that color too?

Black trim looks cool. Two months later, you will most likely have a change of heart. Most people do. At the end of the day, whatever you like is what matters most. My suggestion is paint the walls like a bone white (light beige hue), and the trim gloss white, and the ceiling white. I would then go white switches and plugs and cover plates. Bold colors look good, in smaller doses.
