two lovebirds?

hey after my last question people told me it was possible to have two tame lovebirds that are a bonded pair. if i get a pair, and keep the cage in my room where i am 95% of the time i am home, and get them used to me as soon as they arrive by sitting near the cage and talking to them, in a few days could i tame them the same as if there was one? how much harder would it be? if they breed will they remain tame? if i go away for a vacation, will i come back and they will be wild and hate me? if they do go wild, would it be hard to get them tame again?
 
Hey, go ahead and try it. You could find everyone wrong. Lovebirds are so dang cute. During breeding season, their personality does change and they get pretty testy and protective of the cage, so just be aware. But it will be a lot of fun to watch them.
 
i have had birds and bred birds for a long time, if you have a bonded pair of Lovebirds, it is possible to have them tame, not easy, but possible, if you want a tame lovebird it would be better to have one and get it young so you can work with it, having adult bonded birds is more difficult, now if you do have one or both of the bonded pairs tame, if they mate and are sitting on eggs or taking care of young, that tame bird will not be as tame as if that was not happening, they are very protective of there eggs and there young.
 
is easier if you get one, tame it and socialize it and then get the other, put him in his own cage for a while and repeat the process as with the first. your way works too, i have done it, but is simpler this way. i dont think they will go wild, my nephew left for the summer and his canary and his tiel are still crazy about him.
 
You can have two tame birds if you're going to play with them both everyday. You can even have multiple birds if you're committed. However, if you intend to breed, you're better off having breeders, and separate birds for pets. Breeding can be iffy, some birds can stay tame, others seem to go a little goofy. If you go away on vacation, it will depend on how long. If you can have someone who will play with the birds come and watch them while you're gone it could be ok. Anything longer than a week though would be pushing it. You'd have to redo some work with them. If you totally ignored them for a long period of time, getting the both of them tame again would be very hard, unless you were willing to separate them, and work long and hard with each bird.If you want two, why not find 2 of the same sex? (males are generally easier to pair up, and you won't have to worry about eggs and being too hormonal) It would be easier, and find hand fed, tame birds to begin with.
