The field of eight is set for the U.S. Open women's quarterfinal. Busted Racquet previews the four matches and picks the winners.

Caroline Wozniacki (1) vs. Andrea Petkovic (10), Wednesday -- Wozniacki was down a set and a break to a suddenly-resurgent Svetlana Kuznetsova and managed to come back to win the match. She kept down the unforced erorrs, recovered from blowing the first-set tiebreak and held off a former champion. Petkovic doesn't seem to feel a negative effects from the knee injury that hobbled her in Cincinnati. She's exactly the type of player -- big hitting, power return --that should give Caro trouble. She's already beaten Caroline this year in Miami and is poised to do it again this week. I don't think she will though. Wozniacki is going to make a run in New York ... at least until she'd see Serena Williams in the semis.

Serena Williams (28) vs. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (17), Wednesday -- Here's how good Serena Williams is playing in New York: She defeated No. 16 seed Ana Ivanovic 6-3, 6-4 on Monday and appeared disappointed with the result. It's been all business with Serena during the U.S. hard court season. She hasn't lot a set and she won't against the 20-year-old Russian who earned her way to quarters by upsetting Jelena Jankovic and Francesca Schiavone. Prediction: Williams

Angelique Kerber vs. Flavia Pennetta (26), Tuesday -- Kerber is only the second unseeded woman to advance to a major quarterfinal this year. Ranked No. 92, she almost has as many wins in this U.S. Open (four) as she did in her previous 15 majors. The 29-year-old Pennetta has two quarters in Flushing to her credit but has yet to make a Grand Slam semifinal during her lengthy career. Her ability to get to most balls and steadiness should make this her first. Prediction: Pennetta

Sam Stosur (8) vs. Vera Zvonareva (2), Tuesday -- By virtue of playing a bevy of 11 a.m. matches (she plays in that time slot so much I've started to call her Bob Barker), winning with relative ease in her fourth-round match against the up-and-coming Sabine Lisicki and not being named Serena Williams, Vera Zvonareva has stayed largely under the radar so far as the U.S. Open. If she can get by Stosur, the path to her second straight U.S. Open final looks clearly defined. Stosur survived has survived back-to-back marathons against Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova. If anyone can recover from the nearly nine hours of court time she's put in, it's the athletic Stosur. Prediction: Zvonareva
