Ok this has been long debated and it time to see whos the better man.

before people start with the bear grylls is a fake shit, think about what he does, the man is insane he climbs cliffs without ropes, eats the most disgusting shit imaginable, makes the craziest traps ect.

I personaly find Man vs wild to be a better show, only because its more enjoyable to watch due to him having a film crew and due to the fact that he does some crazy shit like free climbing rock faces, killing rabbits with sticks, getting stung by bees, ect.

however i have much more respect for Les Stroud because he does everything legit, he makes his own fires from scratch, films himself, the kind of stuff that would drive people crazy.

Too bad this isn't a "Who is the better person at hand to hand combat" thread.

they are both bamf, i think les has a better chance of keeping himself out of trouble but when he actually does get into it hes screwed. bear throws himself into trouble and can always get out

Survivor man is better at surviving.

Bear would win in fighting.

i think you guys are right les would probly be a better survivor, but which would you say has a better show?

Despite the occasional assistance Bear possibly gets from his crew, just by watching the show, It's obvious that Bear has better knowledge and is more physically and mentally capable of surviving in the wild. I think the major factor is where as Survivor Man has to survive and has a set day when he will be rescued, Bear will show you how to get to civilization, and where to move to find sources of food/water and what to do in situations. I know if I knew that my rescuers were coming back to a specific location, obviously I would stay put like Les and do with what's around me, but that honestly won't ever happen and Bear knows how to survive for days with long physical tasks and using his great field knowledge to know what to do, and eventually get to civilization... There both bad ass, but I think in all aspects, Bear defines BAMF.

If you want to learn survival tricks done the right way, Survivorman
If you want to watch an actor get himself out of tricky situations, watch Man Vs Wild, it's pretty simple

One carries 60 lbs of camera shit with him on his survivals, often having to make 2 trips to get to anywhere because he has to leave a camera behind to get footage.

The other has a camera crew which has admitted that some situations were fake, and that Bear has stayed in a motel during one of his survivals.

lolz what a coincidence, right after i made this thread man vs wild came on. hes in Alaska now

You don't know exactly what went on there and what the situation was, and if he really did stay in a motel.

I do know for a fact that in one episode of survivorman, Les had to go stay on a boat overnight because the waters were too dangerous for him to be out there... thats not surviving.

they both cheat sometimes, they have given les a rifle to hunt with. they have both had flints, and they have both started with nothing. ill tell you one thing, les will never kill a rabbit with a stick from that far away, catch a huge catfish barehanded, snare and eat a skunk, use smoke to calm bees and steal their honey, or jump into subzero water to show you how to survive hypothermia.

There are certain situations in which everyone would die, and no matter how good you are at getting out of it, you are still dead. This guy isn't gonna put himself into a fake situation and die for some footage on a TV show. There was nothing he could do to stop the waters.

Les Stroud is far more informative and can genuinely show he is a survivor without having a fucking camera crew to cover his ass and give him a hotel room at night.
