How can I fix this? I don't know a whole lot about cars so please excuse me for not using the correct terminology for things. Underneath the carpet in my Dodge Dakota is this maybe 1" or 1/2" thick foam thing and it is soaked in water. I think it may be from carpet cleaning awhile back but the water doesn't go away. Any advice on how to fix this problem? I don't want molding to occur.
I cleaned the carpets with an attachment I have for my home carpet cleaner.

In the floor of your truck, there should be a factory drain plug. Looking up from under the vehicle, it should be an oval shaped piece of plastic about 2 inches across. Get a small pip cleaner and feel around for the small holes in this plastic piece and clean the holes out. This will allow the moisture to leave your truck over the course of a few days.

After the drain plug is cleared, you can also slightly crack your windows and let the truck sit in the sun for a few days to help get everything dried out.

Your heater core may be leaking. Do you notice coolant disappearing? If it was from "carpet cleaning awhile back" you used way too much water. You may need to get a wet/dry shop vac and dry it out.

Did you clean the carpet with the garden hose? I digress, you must dry it out, so remove the door jams after using a shop vac to remove all the water you can and lift the carpet, put wedges in/under the carpet and use fans to dry everything out. It will take several days. You might try removing the seat for more thorough access as well.
Good luck!
