i plan to have my 18th birthday party at the drake hotel in toronto, in their lounge room.

so for my party, i want to have a very sophisticated vibe to it.
music isnt blasting, but loud enough were people can hear it and have a conversation without yelling across a table.
lounges usually have jazzy music, but i wanted my party to have more top40 type music, so at least people can dance if they feel like it.
im making it as a buffet style dinner, so people can walk around and mingle amongst other guests if they wish.
i also forgot to mention, i wanted this to be a "singles only" lounge gathering because it gives single people an opportunity to meet other singles, and im frends with everyone, so i thought it was good.
is this a good idea?
some other questions i had in mind:
how do i keep guests entertained? ive never hosted a party before... =(
shuld i give out party favours? i was thinkin mini martini glasses or a stalk of lucky bamboo (i think its cool lmao)
attire? semi-formal or formal ?
