How much money would I need for roughly 2 months travel in the states. I plan to go NYC, Washington DC, New Orleans, Mississippi, Texas, LA, SanFran, SLC Utah and Chicago. I've calculated that I would need 4,000 British pounds as Hostels is roughly 600(cheap hostels)-900(the more expensive ones) and a 15segment rail card from Amtrack is roughly 300pounds.
So 1000 for flight and Amtrack rail pass
1000 for hostels
1000 for food and local travel
1000for reserve and going out.
Is that enough or am I being to hopeful?
To help 4000 pounds would be 6,000 dollars.
