We have been with Direct-Tv for 10 years and have never bothered them or anything. This Christmas we will complete our HD TV's in every major room and we will be switching to Dish due to Direct TV not being fair with us.
We don't get any movie channels yet our Bill is close to $80. (They charge us about $10 per receiver each month since we signed up almost 10 years ago that's how they did it then). We buy NFL sunday Ticket thing every year which is expensive. And we still use the receiver boxes we had when we signed up. Except one that broke a few years ago and they sent us a older model that was also refurbished.
Two years ago we got our first HD Receiver box from them which cost $100 + $50 installation and we refuse to do that three more times. Every single day Direct TV sends us advertisements with all the great deals that are for new customers only and its not right.
Anyways - Dish is telling us they will give us all of their channels for half the price what we are paying now. Including Showtime, HBO, and Starz I think it is. Give us two HD Receivers and a HD DVR as well as their VOD service and a $100 Amazon gift-card (Which will be great when we decide to get a home theater system) and once our two year contract is up our Bill will still be cheaper than what we are paying for Direct-Tv right now and we get a lot more channels. As well as free HD for life which Direct-Tv is making us pay for.
We need 3 HD Receivers and a HD DVR so they only problem when we switch is we will have to buy another receiver, which I guess would be fine considering just 2 months it would pay itself off. But I want to know if we can use HD Receiver we got from Direct-Tv with Dish or is that not possible?
