I think you can count on the 70's in any of these spots. I live in SC and it is going to be 70 tomorrow. I like where I live at Myrtle Beach. There is a spring break crowd but nothing like Florida. And if you stay in North Myrtle or towards the north end of Myrtle Beach proper, there are less college kids.
I actually recommend the Dayton House resort at about 24th ave and Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach. www.daytonhouse.com.
I know they don't rent to college kids. They don't rent to smokers or motorcyclists either. It is a family oriented and friendly place. It has about the cleanest pools around and quite a few of them. The staff is friendly and the rooms very clean. Most of all it is affordable.
You can go online to www.myrtlebeachlive.com and request a totally free vacation guide. It is huge and will show you options for lodging, dining and fun stuff to do. It is very kid friendly here. It really is.
There is also many coupon books you can pick up down here for discounts on anything from mini golf, shopping, dining and attractions.

We are planning on going on a vacation in April. We are a family of four with children 17 and 15. We would like:
-a place not only with a beach, but other things to do rather than sitting on the beach for a week
- somewhere that is at least in the upper 70's, we are going at the BEGINNING of April, so it has to be a retreat form the midwest cold.
-It also cannot be a party hardy spot for college drunks. We want a fun place that doesn't have very many crowds, and drunken parties.

We are not to educated on the Carolinas so the weather is unknown but maybe the outerbanks or myrtle beach??? What's the weather like at the beginning of April at these spots?

Any help, input, or suggestion will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
