Verison FiOS TV and Samsung TV hdmi issue fix?

anyone know when this fix is coming by any chance? reason is because i have a 40' Samsung HDTV model LN40A650. Don't get me wrong my picture on HD channels look good, but my friend has Fios TV as well but has a Phillips HDTV that cost him like $700. Mine cost me $1,300, and my specs are 3x better than his. But for some reason his picture looks a bit more clearer and sharper on HD channels, especially on sports. So i called both Samsung and Verizon...they both told me that both Samsung and Verizon have hdmi compatibility issues and they are or have been trying to fix this for a while now. If i knew there was an issue between them, i would of just bought a Sony probably. But anyone know when this will actually be fixed?
