Not really, I think you are being a little dramatic. There is very few countries where americans shouldn't go. I am american and I have been to Cuba, and I remember before I went coworkers were telling me to be careful that i was gonna be kidnapped. It was an awesome trip and it let me realize how ignorant people are that don't travel, just stay in the states. But if you talk about going to Iran, or a country like that I agree with you, I wouldn't go, but if you mean Cuba, or Venezuela, its ridiculous.
Geez, where have you been holed up? When I first began traveling outside the U.S. in the late 1960's I made up a Canadian biography for myself "just in case" I was asked about my nationality. Americans have always had a not-so-nice reputation around the world. If someone asks, instead of asking them why they want to know, it's always best just to be from some small town in Saskatchewan that no one's ever heard of.
Um, Americans can easily be killed right here in America. By other Americans. We don't need the help of foreigners to get killed.
We prefer to interfere in other countries' business when people from other countries sneak into America and fly airplanes into our buildings. We prefer a peaceful environment, but terrorists plotting against us doesn't provide that environment.
