Usain Bolt had all eyes on him. And, despite the pressure, the sprinting legend from Jamaica delivered. For the second straight Olympics, Usain Bolt won the gold medal in the 100 meter sprint at the 2012 London Olympic Games. His time of 9.63 seconds was the second fastest time ever. The fastest time? Usain Bolt holds that record.
Often doubted over the last couple of years, Usain Bolt proved he comes up big in big moments.
“I’ve said it over the years, that when it comes to the championships, this is what I do. It’s all about business for me,” he said.
Yahon Blake, also from Jamaica, won the silver medal with a time of 9.75 seconds. The bronze medal went to American Justin Gatlin, who ran the rice in 9.79 seconds.
Next up for Usain Bolt is the 200 meter race. Can he win that race too, just like he did back in the 2008 Olympics? If you know anything about the Jamaican sprinter, you’ll know Usain Bolt can.
