Hey everyone,
so over the past month I've been researching cars and I came down to two vehicles.
2011 VW GTI 2 Door w/Autobahn Package
2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track
Both cars run around 32K$ and my father would be doing the finances yet I would be paying half of the monthly payments. I like the power of the Hyundai Genesis but I REALLY like the way the GTI drives and feels. My dad doesn't want to pay 32K$ for a 2.0L Turbo Charged engine, he thinks it's too much. Yet I tried to explain to him that GTI is a higher quality car in almost every aspect than the Genesis Coupe other than the Engine. Even then, the 2.0l Turbo on the GTI is of very high quality. The JD Power Quality of the GTI is far greater than the Genesis Coupe.
Do you think that I have a valid argument saying that Even though the GTI might have a smaller engine, it's a high quality of car and you get 3 years of Maintenance Service (compared to 0 for the Genesis Coupe). Which car would you choose of the two and do you have any other cars in mind that are similar to those two?
Hank: that doesn't help me, at all. All the research I've done has shown over and over again that the GTI is higher quality.
Matt: the 10 year warranty is if anything goes wrong with the car, but in terms of just standard maintenance (oil change, tire rotation etc) Hyundai does not offer such.

I don't know a whole lot about the GTI but I drive a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon that now has over 100,000 miles on it and I love it. Anyway, are you sure there's no warranty on the Genesis? Hyundai is famous for their 10 year, hundred thousand mile warranty. If not, go with the car you like more, but I have to say that Hyundai makes one hell of a car for the price, and I've been very impressed with my warranty.
