VW Jetta SE or Jetta TDI?

I am looking at both the Jetta SE and the TDI version and am needing some help deciding. Here are the factors for which car I get. My step-father is the GM of a dealership here in town and said he can get me a VW at invoice price, however, this doesn't apply to the TDI because it is a specialty car. Plus I am going to be using the Cash for Clunkers program for my POS.

WIth the invoice price plus the 3500, I can get the Jetta SE at around 14k. On the other hand I really like the TDI, which I would get 4500 for, but it would cost me 20k with the CARS program. My payments would be over a 5 year term and I have almost a guaranteed 5.5%-6% interest rate.

My payments on the SE model would be about 280$, plus insurance would be at 425$ per month. For the TDI they would be at 386$ per month, plus insurance would bring the total to 530$ per month.

As of right now I can afford the TDI but it is still a steep payment per month. But my question is, is the long run would it be worth it to get the TDI or stick with with SE? Please help all you automotive and VW gurus out there.
Just an added update. I really do like the TDI but I would be happy to have a SE model as well. Also, which car would be more reliable in the long run?
