Wages for cooks/chef?

My partner is currently working in a small cafe. He is 22 years old and not fully qualified but he is not on a traineeship or apprenticeship and he is only being paid 9.23 an hour? Does this seem right? What is a first year apprentce chefs wage supposed to be (an hour) and also what about for a chef traineeship?

9.23 an hour seems right. You usually get about this much for a normal 40 hour week and usually somewhere around 250-300 per week after tax. It may not seem like much now, but after he 'graduates', he should get much more. Hope I helped.
