The New York Yankees spend hundreds of millions of dollars to try to win baseball games. On Monday, all that money went to waste as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Yankees by a final count of 3-2.
The star for the Orioles was Wei-Yin Chen, a rookie pitcher. In 6.1 innings, the native of Taiwan gave up only one earned run.
At the plate, outfielder Chris Davis did most of the damage. He was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
With the win, the Orioles and Yankees are now tied 1-1 in this playoff series. Game 3 is Wednesday in Yankee Stadium.
