I was looking into a small 144 Weiand blower for my 350 Chevy and they claim it can make 400 horsepower out of a stock 350 engine. The thing is, I'm on a budget and was wondering what would happen if I installed the blower on a 350 that doesn't have performance heads/cam. It's a stock 1973 350 2-barrel engine and right now it's probably making about 200 horsepower and 330 lb ft of torque with an aftermarket dual exhaust. Would it be possible to make about 300-350 horsepower and 400+ lb ft of torque with the blower? I was thinking that it probably wouldn't make as much horsepower as advertised, but still offer a huge improvement.
Clement21, this blower is designed to run on stock engines without forged internals. It only runs 5-6psi boost, which is very manageable if you run the carb rich and retard timing. To boot, this is a 8.5-1 compression motor I'm talking about.

without some good rods and pistons or crank, you are
probably asking for trouble. a good aluminum intake
and 4 barrel carb would be much cheaper and the
engine would last longer. A good set of heads
and cam along with intake set up would be worth about
350 hp. do some junk yard looking
