What about the dot physical for truck driving jobs?

I'm thinking about trying my hand in the over the road truck driving industry. The trouble is that I need a physical and on the form I was reading it says that psychiatric disorders will lead to disqualification as I do have a mental illness. I also take medication to control my symptoms. I think I would be ok doing the job, but a doctor might not. What do you think?
I have psychotic depression by the way or I may be possibly schizoaffective as my doc isn't sure. I don't know if me mentioning this matters, but there you go.
 
That's a tricky one. I don't know if that would make that much of a difference or not. About all you can do is talk to the doctor and see what they say.

My husbands been driving truck for many years and the physical is usually a snap but he's never been taking much for meds so we don't really have a lot of knowledge in this area.
