What are pros and cons for volkswagen beetle's (old vs old convertible vs new)?

Pros and Cons between the old one, the old convertible version and the new one?

Also, this will be my first car (I'm 25) is it a good idea in that regard? And also which is safer?

I don't drive long distances, mostly just to and from work, since my partner has a work car (rav) that we use most the time and for long distances.
