What are some interesting topics I can base my illustration project around?

This is for my final major project at college. Mine is illustration based. I've been brainstorming some topics, but none have really stuck out. All answers greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

The best topics are ones that you love, for then you'll spend more time and give more attention to detail. So start brainstorming again, but think of what you really like, whether people, places, things, symbols, activities, philosophies; and think of their essence or an essential, arresting image and how you would illustrate that.
