What are the advantages and disadvantages to The Samsung Captivate vs the iPhone?

I'm with AT&T and I'm looking at either the Samsung Captivate or the $50 3G iPhone. I do not have any other Mac stuff, nor do I even have the internet at home at all. I'm a PC, but the iPhone does sound appealing. But I've had my eye on the Captivate for some time. I've also heard that the Captivate can get many apps for free that cost for the iPhone. Can you give me some pros and cons on both please.
