What are the benefits of being a travel agent?

I just got my bachelors in communication and im thinking about applying to be a travel agent. If you are (or have been) a travel agent do you get cheap travel? and what about commission?

You get commission on international sales only from the airline tickets...

If I were you, I'd start my career at the airline call centers...with a degree you can start in a management office position instead of sales, and then get to fly free 1st Class every where you go whenever you want...it's a very cool perk...
