What are the best audiophile headphones for around $300 or less?

I am looking for some headphones for listening in my house. I am willing to pay around $300 (maybe a little bit more), and I listen to various different music types, but predominately Indie Rock, and Psychadellic music like Animal Collective. What are the best-sounding headphones I can get for this money. I appreciate your input!

The Bose are O.K., I actually have a pair. The noise reduction really does work well, especially if you fly. I think they distort too easily though with strong bass material. I'm talking rock music bass, not rap or anything.

If you just want sound quality and don't care about noise reduction I'd look at a pair of Grado headphones. I owned their cheapest pair at one time and they were really good. The SR325i's are supposed to be one of the best pairs made and you can get them under $300. Their website is gradolabs.com
