I am looking for a new start somewhere and I have always been interested in Maine. I have never been there and I understand that I should visit first and see for myself. Well I dont even know where to start when coming out to visit so I would like to know what you all suggest? I am 25 year old single female- A fulltime student- and I dont like big cities (but i do like medium cities that have decent enough ammenities)

what I am looking for:
- A town with a good college or university
- Night life is really not important to me, Im neutral with bars and clubs. I dont go out to much but I wouldnt mind having access to it. I dont want to live in a city where it turns into a ghost town after 10 PM. But I also dont wanna live in a total PARTY town.
- I dont like major big cities, I dont like the hustle and bustle or cities so no places that are overly crowded. Medium type cities are what I am looking for.
- Religion is not important to me
- I Plan on going to school fulltime and will need a job, any waitress job will do. but my point is i dont wanna live in a city where the cost is too high to handle.
- Art and live music is what I enjoy.
- Low Crime, I know that might be too much to ask for and crime is in ever city so i am not trying to be too unrealistic but I would like to live somewhere that I am not afraid to leave my apartment at night.

Again I plan on making a trip out to Maine myself to see things for me, but right now any info would really help me in order to figure out where I would even wanna start looking. Please! thank you
