If I were to use it though, it'd be for the "hahaha" type of laughter, as opposed to giggling. I guess it varies depending on who it is though. Generally, I would think that the person is laughing because whatever you said was funny. It seems a bit paranoid to think that everyone is laughing AT you, just because they said "lol". Unless it is clear from the context that this is actually what they are doing.</blockquote>
