fitness wise and special training? I've decided that I want to join the SAS and I would like to know what training procedures they must go through to be accepted. For example: Where they train (places), what exercises are involved (push ups, sit ups, chin ups etc.) and what requirements must be met fitness wise (how many push ups or Kilometers run daily.) I would also like to know what some of the training procedures involve are (like weapons training) and how like each course takes to complete. Thank you for any answers. Much appreciated.

sorry sonny in your dreams!
Join the army first then get some service in!
And remember many apply but few very very few are chosen!

I'm not familiar with much of their training regiment but I understand one of their acceptance tests involves individual cross land navigation through the hills of northern Britain with a full pack (about 65 lbs)...I think the distance is upwards of 35 miles....

You have to be a serving soldier to apply to join the SAS. Then there is a very strict interview to go through, to assess your abilities, and any particular talent, that is useful to the SAS.. I know the training is very severe which covers Interrigation etc, and only 8out of 10 pass the tests. I also know that part of the course is map reading which was done on the Brecon Beacons in the middle of winter. You spend a week there and live off the land, you also have a time limit to get from A to B by map reading. It is not for the Faint hearted. I was in The Army stationed at Brecon Depot for a while, and would see them starting out.
