I was walking around the mall yesterday with my fiance, and I saw this family who had a pink stroller. I thought it was a kid who was sitting in there, but I was surprised to see a dog! I thought it was so ridiculous.

They can't give that dog a normal DOG life. Dogs need to be WALKED on the leash, not strolled around with a stroller.

What are your thoughts about those strollers?
Yeah, dogs are allowed in malls that has a pet shop.

Ridiculous. That is the only word I can think of. People who buy strollers for their dogs are obvoiusly lacking. They should go with their maternal instinct and have a CHILD.

I agree they are ridiculous. There is so much hype about dogs not being looked after properly out there, and that includes people who don't walk there dogs and cause dog obesity...so I don't know what stupid person decided to invent something that is going to discourage people from walking their dogs even more. Dogs need exercise, there is absolutely no need for a dog to have a stroller, and it just shows what type of people the owners are who have them. People who don't treat their dogs like dogs but like humans! It's stupid.

I personally have never heard of a doggy stroller! The thought is amusing :) I don't think Ceasar would approve! If they want a child they should try to adopt one and if the dog needs help walking he needs to be working with a physical therapist!! :)

I just dont see the point...

I have seen elderly folks that physically cannot pick up a carrier use them to go to the vet...but seriously, It's a pretty retarded concept...dogs were made for being on their feet walking.

I might consider a stroller for an elderly or disabled dog who is no longer able to walk, but I can't imagine using one for a dog who is capable of walking on his own. Are dogs even allowed in malls?

Personally, I don't think dogs belong in strollers. But, in my community there used to be a dear old lady that was always at our local small mall pushing her little black poodle around in a stroller. You would often see her on the street walking with that dog in the stroller. Everyone knew her or had seen her and I decided to talk to her one day in the mall. Turns out this old gal (she was 87 years old) had the dog since it was a pup - when it was given to her at 4 weeks old, it couldn't use its back legs. Vets said it was either congenital or that it had been injured immediately after birth. But she loved it like she loved her two children who had already passed away. That little dog "Izzie" was all she had in the world and she talked to me a long time about her. Then, some time later, the dog died and when the old lady passed away two weeks later, there was quite a write up in the paper. Anyway, it was a sad story, but in this case, since the dog was incapacitated, I thought the stroller was fine.

I think they're ridiculous! If I can't take my great dane into a mall, then no one should be able to take their dog into a mall, regardless if it's in a stroller! (Except of course service dogs!)
