What Can A Previous Employer Tell A Possible Future Employer Regarding Your

Work History? I've heard the only thing that can be told is they can only validate your employment and nothing else. Is this true?

Most employers only say dates of employment, job, and, if you provide permission, salary.
However, they can say whatever they want. If you found out they said something fraudulent, then you can sue them. How are you going to find out and how do you prove it?

Nope, not true. While many employers have that as a policy, legally they can say anything that's true.
