Two days ago a few dead pixels (black) appeared on the right side of my 6 month old Blackberry Bold screen. Then more started to die out within a few hours. Now there's just a couple dozen cluster of dead pixels on the screen.
I spoke to the Warranty department of AT&T. The representative asked me if there was any "water damage or exposure to heat". I said "No." because there wasn't. It just appeared out of nowhere, and I take care of my phone very well.
The AT&T rep. said I can replace it, and send the old one in. They are going to "inspect" it. If they find that there was "water damage or exposure of heat," they are going to charge me $420 for the new phone.
What can cause dead pixels?
- can water damage and heat exposure really kill them? I've read dead pixels are often a manufacturer defect...
Please help. Anymore information can be provided. I am scared they can pin the "water damage or exposure to heat" on me when there never was and put me out $420!
