My boyfriend's ex-girlfriend has his truck. The loan, etc.. is in his name and she co-signed. She has had his truck for six months and has paid the payments. She has also used this vehicle during these months. She is not giving him the truck until he pays her $1,500. I would say yes, he owes her the money if he had the truck in his possession during this time. I suggested getting the vehicle towed from her house to the dealership so they can make a key. Is this legal? How would you handle this situation?
Thank you for the advice thus far. I understand that co-signing is not a wise idea and I would NEVER do that for anyone. Not even my mother. I have excellent credit (low 800's) and plan on keeping my credit as far away as possible from his. He has made some bad decisions and plans on setting them straight. I don't judge people who have made bad decisions because we all have in one form or another.
