Yesterday I woke up at 8:00am and had a really bloated feeling in my stomach. I thought it was heartburn so I took some tums. Later the pain seemed to move down into my upper stomach. Finally several hours later I was in severe stomach pain. I vomited once and had diarreah a few times. By 5:00 the stomach pain was completely gone. Then I developed a fever that soared up to 103.4. I have had a 100.00-101.1 degree temp since 7:00pm last night. It is now 1:00pm the next day and my temp is still 101 but I have no other symptoms.

Does anyone know if a virus or anything is going around like that? PS I had my flu shot in October.

sounds like gastritis, and any time you have a fever that high, it is almost always due to bacterial infection of some sort, so you probably had food poisoning of some sort. Suggest you see a doctor.

It could be a mild stomach "virus", food bourne illness, etc. Either way, it is not uncommon.

I doubt it is influenza at all, however. Flu is typically respiratory in nature.

Whatever it is, give yourself some rest. Drink plenty of fluids, eat very lightly (if at all). A good diet would be the "BRAT" diet for sick kids (Banana's, rice, applesauce, toast). If it doesn't go over in a couple of days, or if it gets worse, see your doctor.

Cheers
