When they made the American version of The Grudge, what got changed? I have not seen both versions, and I suppose I have the same question regarding The Ring as well. What I'm looking for is names, gore vs. pure freakiness/thrill, etc. The reason I am asking this, is because I have known for quite some time now that there was going to be an American adaption of Death Note. Although I know to expect nothing from Hollywood, I would still like to get an idea of what things may be changed. I'm sure the plot will be slaughtered but I want to get a feel for what they will change other than destroying the plot. So anyways, when Japanese films such as The Grudge, The Ring, and The Eye get adapted for an American audience, what usually gets changed the most (again, other than the general plot)?
