Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (1260years)
Really you only have to look at who was the persecuting power and who were the persecuted were during the Dark Ages or the 1260years to see the Anti-Christ power/system.
