This is a party for adults and most of the guests have regular dress up parties so quite a creative bunch where really anything goes. The general idea is to think of the types of people you might see in a transit lounge or at an aitport. Would love some ideas, I am really stumped!

But that is a varied group for certain. I think maybe you answered your own question "anything goes"? So I would just use your best Imagicalnation & surprise them
