For example, in Matthew 16, Jesus asks his disciples "Who do you say that I am?" Only Peter knew the symbolic meaning of the title Christ as he replied "Thou art Christ, the son of the living God" (Matt 16.15-16)

What did Christ mean in Jewish tradition and how has Christian tradition interpreted the title, Christ?

Thank you everyone.

Christ is a Greek term, not a Hebrew one. However, despite having a poor translation of the bible in front of you, the Hebrew people had, and many still have, a concept of Messiah central to their beliefs. As I understand it, the belief was that the Messiah would be a King of the Hebrew people, much like King David or Solomon. . . Wise, just, powerful, and fair.

A false messiah:

My understanding, a demon. thru simple logic:
John 3:16 says,
Cause Jesus forgives.
There's no reason to practice Morality.
So being an evil little **** and believing in Jesus will get ya to heaven. However if you are a good person and don't believe in Jesus you go to Hell.

Only a demon would suggest that,
only an idiot would believe it.

People are easily influenced by illusions, signs, experiences, and fantasies that are a socially acceptable means to acquire more attention of potential friends.
And they base their Logic of Truth off of such BS.

Finding Truth:
In the Kalama Sutra, Buddha says.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it..
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Faith is a foundation building block of creation. I am confident that the Savior Jesus Christ uses faith in His capacity to act under the direction of Father in Heaven. The Master used it to create the most remote galaxies as well as to compose quarks, the smallest elements of matter we know of today. Yet, I have faith that there are yet smaller building blocks in the wonder of creation. UAdd a Note

Faith in the future is demonstrated by a couple sealed in the temple. They understand that by obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the plan of happiness of our Father in Heaven, they can have a joyous life together. They recognize that when the challenges intended to be growth opportunities come, they will find ways, as prompted by the Holy Ghost, to overcome them in ways that are productive and character building
