I have a folder that's already been done downloading. I tried extracting all of them but that doesnt work. Its a DVD that I downloaded. It has files like DAT, MDS, I01-1O6 etc.

What do I need to do in order to start watching my movie?

The above answer is correct, but I just wanted to add, getting movie files from the net is tricky, because, as has already been pointed out, not all are legit.

when you download a movie using torrents you need to check the comments to make sure it is not a fake. anti piracy organisations are filling trackers with 'fake' torrent files. Use a search engine like http://www.btjunkie.com which allows users to comment on the quality (or not) of the file. You can see from what they say whether its a valid download or not, and what the video and audio is like.

-read the comments first, you will save yourself a lot of wasted downloads

-also remember to scan everything you download with a good, up-to-date antivirus

Also, you may want to check out

First make it sure that the 'movie' (the .dat file) you want to watch is a movie indeed. Use windows media player to play this movie (since it's in .dat extension). My guess is that that .dat file isn't a movie at all. Very often wicked people put up viruses or junk files with .dat extension in torrents. never download movies from torrents which has .dat or .rar extension. If you're looking for DVD quality movies look for these words with the torrent 'XVid' ,'avi','divx' etc. And it's a courtesy that after you have finished downloading the file( whatever it's type is, a movie or a software) from torrents, do not remove the torrent until it has uploaded at least equal to the size you have downloaded so that everyone can have it.
