You will need a letter of recommendation from a bank to open a bank account.
For your residency you will need two original copies of your birth certificate with raised seal, a letter from your local police department stating you aren't wanted and are a citizen in good standing. You will need a Dominican to stand up for you saying they agree to ship your body back to the US in case you die. You also have to show money here either in cash or investments of 15k US dollars. Attorney costs 1000 US dollars on the inexpensive side and 1500-2000 US on the high side.

You will need an aids test and a physical which is part of the price you will pay along with a chest x-ray. You get your Temp residency first and a year later you need to get your Permanent residency. After a resident for 5 years you can apply to become a citizen.
