I asked this question in Polls & Surveys and didn't get any real answers--just one rant against Rosie O'Donnell. I think Seniors may have better insight into this situation than the general P&S group.

Many celebrities and other rich folks don't seem to be in touch with the real world as the rest of us know it--kinda' like Marie Antoinette suggesting that starving peasants eat cake. They seem woefully self-absorbed and narcissistic.

Rosie O'Donnell says she hopes to film again in Detroit after doing her new movie for Lifetime. I applaud her desire to do another movie there. That's the kind of thing that can really help the economy there.

Then she told the reporter that she "has been so moved by Detroit's plight that she bought a Buick Enclave..."

'Scuse me?

She spent $40,000 or so on a luxury car to sympathize with Motor City residents? Wouldn't that money have been better spent with a donation to a food pantry or homeless shelter? She could even have given $10,000 to each of 4 deserving people on the verge of losing their homes.

Rosie O'Donnell is not a stupid person. She couldn't have amassed the money and power she has if she were.

So, what is your opinion?

I can see the humor in that. If I had her money....I may have bought 2 of them & auctioned them off in 6 months just for S***s & Giggles. Im sure she donates to food pantries too. She is a very giving person & she doesn't have power...she has a soul. (my opinion)

Why does everyone want to make a person with some clout a scapegoat for saving the world?
No one should be spending anyone's $ or making judgements as to where that $ shoud or should not go...it's unAmerican. We can do what we want with it. She pays taxes...let the research begin.
I'm a RO Fan.
