What do you study if you're interested in humanitarian issues?

I'm 23 and currently studying physiotherapy but I'm not really very interested in it.

I have a great deal of interest in the problems of the world. I've been reading a lot about North Korea and its impoverished people and various other humanitarian issues in other countries and continents.

I feel like I want to help the world but I dont know how to go about it. I realize even if I became the king of England I wouldn't be able to help the North Korean people.... but I REALLY want to be a part of things.... if not part of the solution then a part of the fight.

What kind of subjects would I need to study for this path?

-some kind of doctor so as to join the doctors without borders or an organization like that.
-psychologist,educator

personally, i believe that you should study something you like ,preferably practical, then collect some kind of information about the place you want to help ( e.g korea) and travel there by your own initiative.Sometimes you can't help while controlled by an organization. You should see how it's like leaving there. If you really want to help you should support these people so you need to live there maybe for years .They need : psychological support : someone that could give them hope that they can still live and find the meaning of their lives ( i suggest you approach them culturally it really works), then surely some medical assistance and an educator. Someone who could help them enjoy the privilege of education practically. How to plant trees, how to build a house, how to earn money etc
