What do you think of this "educational" passage I found in my religion book?
What do you think of this "educational" passage I found in my religion book? Throughout the 7th and 8th century great armies of the Muslim followers of the prophet Muhammad arose in Arabia. These armies conquered much of the middle east, including the holy sites in Jerusalem. These Muslim invasions began to be seen as serious threats to Christianity. They conquered the Christian areas of northern Africa and by the end of the 8th century, conquered Spain, which had also been a Christian land. Spain then remained under the Muslim rule for almost another 800 years. I go to a Catholic school, so religion is a subject for us. In all my years there, I have never seen anything like this. I'm not saying it wasn't true, but is it just me, or does anyone else see the negative connotation to "Muslim"? Serious answers please.
