My question is, if having a job is like a vacation from being unemployed, then what do you call the vacation you get when you have a job? A "meta-vacation? In other words, being unemployed and actively seeking work is work in itself. When you finally get a job it feels as if you are on a vacation from looking for work. (Honestly it really feels like a vacation since you can put your unemployment anxieties on hold). Then when you get a vacation during this job it's as if you're having a vacation within a vacation. What do you call this vacation?
Personal blurb:
After being unemployed for so long, getting "temporary jobs" through temp agencies is when I can relax a little. It's honestly like being on vacation from unemployment! When I get a week long stint I don't look at it as work but as vacation from looking for work!
If more people looked at work like this people would be much happier at the checkout lines!
