What does it mean to dream you are shot in the head?

My friend was recently telling me about his dream where he was at school (college) and some unknown man came into the class room and shot at him in the head. He describes everything and said it felt extremely real, like he felt his body and head hit the floor after being shot and the loose of control and then complete numbness of his heart stop beating and not breathing. At the end of the dream he sees himself standing in front of a mirror and his face and all the gory details from being shot?
this dream has been freaking him out all day and hes very concerned.
what could it mean?
