What does the "empty radiator" light on my Mercedes-Benz C-230 mean?

I checked the radiator fluid, and it was a bit low, so I topped it up. However, the light did NOT go off. I also checked the oil level, and it was fine. The engine temperature is also normal. So, I'm stumped. What does that little light on my dashboard mean?
 
You filled the coolant at the reservoir right. The recovery system might not be working right especially if you have a leak in the system.
You should have a radiator cap that you can open and check the level in the radiator, when the engine is cold. If you have to add more coolant, you definitely have a leak, the cooling system is a closed system.
