I know Chevrolet have the sideline team of automobiles branded with the "Z" but what does it mean? On a Honda when they call it a vtec the only difference is it has the VTech head(as far as I understand). I can take a stock civic and replace the stock head with a VTech head ( and one other thing but I can't think of the name right now) and the car is now a vtec civic(as far as I understand)(I could be wrong) So that's my question. Is a cavalier only a z24 when the 2.4l engine is under the hood or is their other modifications needing to be done to the car. Can I take 2.2l cavalier and replace the engine with a 2.4l engine and it be called a Z24 or do I need to make other mods and alterations as well (diff chassis, better suspension, is it a narrower body frame, more aerodynamic, different shaped headlights, etc.) I'm also curious about the same thing for the differences between base model chevy's and SS model chevy's. No answer is too detailed. Add as much info as you can. Thank you.
