A blog is an online journal kind of like a diary. Go to www.blogger.com for a free blog. No it will not infect your PC with viruses.

A blog is ususally a user created content or a web page. There are many web sites which allows users to create your blog or if you have your own web site, then you can have your own blogs, where you can publish your own contents.According to my opinion, there could be chances of getting your pc infected, if the blog site you are using, uses infected ActiveX controls or uses malicious scripts. One should better be careful about the blogging sites and proceed with caution. Only use blog sites from reputed one, like blogger.com, which is hosted by Google.

A blog is basically an online journal that you can share with friends, family and the world.Since a blog is only on a website and nothing is needed to be installed on your computer, the chance of your PC becoming infected with anything is unlikely. (But ALWAYS maintain virus software at a minimum to prevent trouble)A few free blogs you can try out are http://www.blogger.comhttp://www.livejournal.comhttp://www.xanga.comhttp://www.myspace.comhttp://360.yahoo.comGood luck and have fun!-B-rianHere's Wikipedia's definition of a blog: "A blog is a website for which an individual or a group generates text, photographs, video, audio files, and/or links, typically but not always on a daily or otherwise regular basis. The term is a shortened form of weblog. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called "blogging". Individual articles on a blog are called "blog posts", "posts", or "entries". The person who posts these entries is called a "blogger"."

Hi, welcome to Yahoo Answers!Blog is short for weblog, and is basically a log, on the web. The idea came from people posting links to places they found on the web, but you can use them as diaries, message boards, news reports and much more! For a beginner, the best places to look for a quick, simple free blog are Blogger.com and Yahoo 360. The basic structure involves posts and comments. You make the posts, with a title and some body content, eg:FIREFOX 1.5It’s here, more or less a year after 1.0. Wow… All that seems to have changed is the website, the number in the about screen. Oh yeah and there’s a new marketing campaign. Firefox 1.5, I haven’t noticed any difference from 1.5RC3, or RC2, or 1. Oh well, enjoy the hype whilst it lasts.By Thomas Henwood .. No Comments .. PermalinkYour readers can post responses to what you have written by writing comments. A Permalink is very common, and is simply a URL you can use to link to the post, should you wish to.I'm not going to wind on any more here, but if you want more information I strongly reccommend the Wikipedia page on blogs, which is at the top of the list below. Also linked are Blogger and Yahoo 360, and a couple of example blogs.Hope this is of help!
